Name: Taiga Tanin(Kumo) she has never told anyone in her new home who she really is and made up her last name of Tanin instead, she doesn't want anyone to judge her by her family name, or more specifically, by her father's reputation
Age: 177 years, looks 21
Gender: female
Species: Wind Demon
Element: Air, Water (she is only mediocre with either element)
Position: Lead Knight
Region: Coastal
Weapons: a large sword named Tranquility, it is the only thing she took with her when she left the Air Kingdom, her father forged it himself for her as a gift for her 20th birthday and it is really the only good memory she has of him, she also has a little power over both elements of wind and water
Description:
Personality: Overall she is a nice person and glad to help out if someone really needs her. Though she is usually very sarcastic and pessimistic, she can be very flirtatious and playful with men that she find attractive. She enjoys dressing up and wearing 'shiny' and 'sparkly' things and making herself look elaborate in simple ways. She is also rather arrogant and likes to brag. She has become a close friend to the emperor, Himatsu, though thinks of him somewhat like a puppy, cute and innnocent, and she sometimes thinks she'd like to help him lose a piece of that innocence. She would also say she is 'friends' with the Head Sorcerer, Kan, though he's rather distant and creeps her out at times with his quiet ways, since she is generally more on the loud and obnoxious side. She is not afraid to speak her mind and tell anyone what she really thinks of them and their ideas. If you ask her about her past she quickly changes the subject, not always smoothly, and if you pester her about it she becomes very defensive and extremely bitchy and may even go so far as to draw Tranquility and threaten you with it.
History: She is one of two daughters in the Kumo royal bloodline, the eldest. She would have become empress after her father, Kage's death if she had not refused to rule a kingdom left in such chaos and run away. She never thought of her father as a bad man until shortly after her sister was born. Something about him changed then and he became more and more careless, arrogant, greedy, and soon enough battle-hungry, as if he had to prove himself capable to the rest of the world for some reason. He began to think less and less of his people and more and more of only himself and his wants. She has no idea what caused this change in him, but after her sister was a couple years old Kage was never the same man she had loved as a little girl and she soon forgot those memories of how wonderful it had been to have him as a father. Then again, she thought that maybe it was only because she was older and that she was just finally realizing what he was really like, that he wasn't hiding it from his innocent little girl anymore. Either way, she lost all of her love for her father. Her mother, Taeru, seemed to notice a change as well, and one night Taiga overheard her confronting him about it; the next day she had a large bruise on her cheek. Though her mother would never admit that Kage had hit her, Taiga knew the truth. From then on, her mother had little to do with her father and focused instead on raising her youngest daughter, Kaze. Taiga made sure to be quite involved in Kaze's life while she was growing, since their father wasn't and she wasn't really sure she wanted him to be anyway. She didn't want her little sister to be corrupted by the man her father had become. Even then, she wasn't planning on staying within the Air Kingdom longer than Kaze reaching an age Taiga felt adequate enough to leave her alone to deal with their father. She stayed longer than planned, however, until Kaze had reached the age of 29; she then up and disappeared, leaving no trace as to where she might have gone, she didn't want her family finding her, she just wanted to leave it behind and start new. She didn't even really plan on going to the Water Kingdom, it's just where she ended up. Once there, she started training as a Knight, knowing that because she was a Wind Demon, becoming a high ranking Sorceress of the Water Kingdom would be nearly impossible since it would be difficult for her to learn to control any element but the one she was born to. She quickly rose among the ranks of Knights, however, and is now the Lead Knight.
