Name: Kan Reiji
Age: 135 years, looks 19
Gender: male
Species: Summoner
Element: Ice, Water, though he has only a little power over ice magic and only because it was his born element
Position: Head Sorcerer
Region: Coastal
Weapons: his summoning book and elemental magic is all he really requires, though he carries a dagger with a sapphire in the hilt named Hana with him as a last resort
Description:
Personality: he is very quiet, withdrawn, and deliberate in his actions. He is always careful to think well before doing anything and is very cautious in his words. He is one who knows how one mistake or careless move can have a devastating effect. He rarely speaks unless spoken to first, and is a keen observer, watching things carefully before making any decisions. He forms his opinions loosely, but always has them in case he is ever asked to share them. He is a rather simple man, just wishing to do his best in his new home, nothing more. He dedicates his life to serving those who took him in after he ran away, to serving the kingdom that houses him, and to the memory of his sister. He trains to improve his magic just as Kadan once trained with every weapon she might be able to get her hands on, with the same dedication she once had. He might not be able to become a Knight and fulfill her dream for her, but at least he's good at being a Sorcerer.
History: he grew up with his father, mother, and older sister, Kadan, in the Ice Kingdom. Kadan was always his role model though he never really showed it nor did he ever tell her how much he really looked up to her. His sister always aspired to become a Knight of the Ice Kingdom and was always training for it for as long as Kan can remember. He often liked to watch her; he never really had any skill with a weapon, as much as he might try. Kadan gave him Hana for his 13th birthday and began to teach him how to use it; he never got very good with it. One day he was annoyed with how bad his skills were, even after 2 years of his sister teaching him. He was throwing it at his door, trying to hit the same spot and not succeeding very well. The continuous thumping on the door drew Kadan's attention and when she opened the door the dagger went through her throat. Kan had turned away and just randomly thrown it, frustrated with it all. He heard her fall to the floor and turned to see what he had done. He ran to her side, not understanding how he could have possibly done this to her. Her blood was everywhere and her breathing almost stopped already. He pulled the dagger out but that only seemed to make it worse and more blood flowed from her wound. She died in his arms and he could do nothing, his parents weren't even home to help. He was horrified by what he had done and could think of nothing to do but run. He had to get away from her; there was so much blood it seemed it would stain him forever. Hana still in his hand, he just ran until he couldn't run anymore.
It was getting late and he had no idea where he was, fresh snow had fallen to cover his tracks and the snow was beginning to fall harder, becoming blinding. He was sure he would freeze to death in the blizzard that was coming on and couldn't help but think he deserved it. When he felt his life was all but ending, consumed by fear and grief, a book appeared before him, a bright light was coming from within it. Suddenly, a strong will to live took him over and he felt that somehow this book would help him. He opened its pages randomly to find them blank but shining with a blinding light. He spoke aloud, to no one in particular, saying Help Me. Out of the pages came a beautiful creature, and as he stared at her glowing pink form, he realized it was a fox, only it had three tails. He flinched from a slight pain only to look back at the book and find that upon the page she had appeared from, a seal had appeared in his blood; at least he guessed it was his blood since his thumb was bleeding. She told him her name was Iki and that she had answered his summons, that she was there to help him. She curled her lithe form around him, her bushy tails resting over him to give him warmth and pointed her nose toward a space in front of her, making a small shelter of ice and snow around them with only a look. He was in a stupor about everything that was happening, but she only told him to rest and that everything would be okay now.
A deep sorrow for what he had done filled his heart, and he never returned home, how could he? Though he carried Kadan's gift and death with him always after that; it was the only thing he had, even if it was the thing that had killed his beloved sister. Iki was with him all the time after that, guiding him. He didn't even know where he was going, but Iki said she knew his heart better than even he did. Still numb from the horror of it all, he could only follow her. She caught food for him when he needed it, pushed him on when he would give up, and eventually they made it to the Water Kingdom. They lived on the streets for a while until a man found him, carrying nothing but a dagger and book with a seal on the front, as well as Iki. The man instantly knew him for what he was, a Summoner. Knowing how valuable he could be, he took him in and began to teach him water magic; as it turns out he was a Sorcerer for the Water Kingdom. Kan found that he was much better at learning magic than how to wield a weapon.
He has been in the Water Kingdom since then. He became a Sorcerer to Himatsu's father at a fairly young age and made good friends with Himatsu since you could almost say they grew up together, and shortly after his father died, Himatsu made him Head Sorcerer. Over the years, he has acquired more knowledge of who he is as a Summoner and gained a few more summons. His life in the Ice Kingdom is all but nonexistant in his memories, though he still carries the great weight of the guilt from killing his sister. His heart is forever heavy with sorrow, though he does not show it, if one were to look deep enough into his eyes, through the unfeeling facade, you might be able to see it.
Other: he has six summons, though only Iki is with him at all times. All of his other summons can only spend limited time outside of their own summon world:
his first: Iki, a glowing slightly pink three-tailed fox with red eyes. She is a relatively advanced summon for a first summon, especially by a boy of 15, giving him a good name with other summons.

his second: Phantom, a simple snowy owl, she was relatively easy to summon since she is a rather lowly one, not having any very special skills, Kan summoned her only a couple years after Iki appeared to him.

his third/fourth: Fujin and Dansei, a pair of wyverns that have a little control over air magic, they are both medium level summons and it took him a while to gain their trust.

his fifth: SpiritRain, a very advanced summon, she does not come to just anyone. She has power over both elements of ice and water and usually will not come to anyone that does not have at least some control over both. She is a beautiful blue wolf with ice blue markings and might be Kan's most powerful summon, at least in terms of magic. She willingly showed her seal to Kan.

his sixth: Triad, the son of the famed Cerberus, Triad is a quick-tempered HelHound that rarely answers the call of a summon, finding few worthy enough for him to serve. However, SpiritRain and Triad have a certain respect for each other. After Kan summoned SpiritRain, Triad was suddenly interested in him. When he willingly showed his seal to Kan, Kan wasted no time in sealing their pact, knowing how valuable Triad could be. Triad has power over both fire and shadow magic.
