Having only just arrived in Darkon, and only a few days ago in the Shadow Kingdom's territory, Syrus was slightly relieved and slightly let down. He liked running, it always put an exciting spin on things, but it became monotonous after a while. Here in the Shadow Kingdom he wasn't a wanted killer, at least not yet, and his name wasn't so well known.
"Selys . . . do want anything? he turned to the girl. They had money, all of it stolen from those he had killed along the way.
"Of course I do, you idiot, there'll be hot food here, good food, hopefully. Let's see what they have," she replied, teasing him playfully as she looked around the tavern, "Come on, let's go to the bar and-"
"Of course, my lady, as you wish," he replied to her teasing, walking with her to the bar and talking with the bartender about food and prices.

"Expensive as hell here, isn't it?" she asked as she finished her soup, shovelling the remains into her mouth unceremoniously and gulping it down like she'd never eaten a thing in her life.
"I wouldn't know, I've never been to hell . . . at least not that I can remember . . . ," he replied with a smirk, sitting back. He had chosen not to buy anything except a drink, food was food, no matter if it was cooked, bought, or caught from your own hunting skills . . . and the last option only cost time, "So . . . do we really have to stay at an inn?"
"Well, yeah . . . I'd like to sleep in a real bed if you don't mind terribly," she shot back, glaring at him like that was the stupidest question he could ever ask.
He sighed, staring down into his glass, "More money gone then . . . not like we really have anything else to spend it on I suppose . . . ," he muttered, taking another swig and finishing the drink off.
She stared at him for a moment, "Syrus . . . you should buy me a drink." His eyes narrowed at her, but she interupted him before he even said anything, "Please?"
Should never have given her that shot . . . she's already addicted, he sighed and ordered a shot of tequila . . . the same thing he'd gotten for her the past few times, "Are you happy now?" he asked as she shot it down, "Can we leave?"
She looked over at it and smirked, "What if I was't happy? We'd still just leave . . . ," she stood and pulled him with her, "Come on then, if you're so anxious."
She pulled him away from the bar, out the door, and they began looking for a decent inn to stay at.

"Selys, do you notice anything in particular about this room?" he looked over at her with narrowed eyes, "There are plenty of other inns with rooms that have two beds-"
"Come on, Syrus, stop being a baby. What's wrong with sharing a bed? It's not like we'll do anything," she smirked at him, "Besides, this inn has free meals with the room, not many other inns we've checked out have that-"
"Yeah, and it's twice as expensive to pay for it all," he growled moodily. He knew Selys wouldn't do anything if they shared a bed, and normally he was fine sharing a room with her, but seperate beds . . . . If they shared one he was afraid of what he might try. Every so often he found himself longing for her, waking up late at night and just watching her sleep . . . sharing a bed with her . . . .
"I really think we should find an inn with-"
"I like this one! Come on, Syrus . . . pleeeeeeeeeease?" she looked at him with a small pout, making herself look like a begging puppy. He stared at her for a while before rolling his eyes and grumbling something unintelligable and she knew she'd won, "Yes!"
She hugged him, throwing her arms about his neck and making him stare at her strangely. She laughed, "Now go pay for it while I get things settled." She let him go and walked further into the room, Avalanch following at her feet, leaping up onto the bed and curling into a fuzzy white ball, his fluffy tail over his nose.
"Settled? What do you have to-" she cut him off, telling him to just go pay for the room and he narrowed his eyes at her, grumbling once more and going to pay for the room

Sitting heavily on the bed, she noticed Syrus staring at her . . . more like glaring at her.
"Oh, come to bed, Syrus. Stop being so childish, you idiot-"
"I'm not being childish . . . and I am not an idiot!" he growled softly, arms crossing over his chest stubbornly, "Give me a blanket and a pillow, I'm sleeping on the floor . . . ," he muttered, not looking at her.
She groaned, standing, "You are so stupid!" she walked over to him, taking his arms in her hands and trying in vain to pull him to bed, "Come on! You are NOT sleeping on the floor!" She knew, being only a human and him a demon, she would never get him to move like this, but maybe her pleading would get him to finally go to bed.
"Selys . . . ," he growled, finally turning his violet-grey gaze to her, sighing lightly, "I don't . . . ," she pleaded once more, one of her pouting puppydog looks with a long pleeeeease?
"Selys . . . ," he muttered, a bit softer, looking away once more, "Selys, I don't want to do anything to you!"
At his outburst, she stopped tugging at him, staring at him. His gaze was once more upon her, narrowed with . . . a light of fear?
"D-do anything . . . ?" she laughed nervously, "Like . . . like what?" she let go of him and took a step back, wondering what he was thinking . . . .
He looked away once more, his hands clutching his arms slightly, "Nothing . . . just give me a blanket and pillow . . . I'm sleeping on the damn floor!"
She stared at him for a moment longer, having her own ideas about what he might do to her . . . . She walked slowly back to him, taking his head in her hands and forcing him to look at her again, then leaning her head on his chest, her hands sliding down beside it, "I trust you . . . -"
"But I don't! . . . Selys, I . . . ," he looked down at her, surprised by her actions, "I just . . . don't want to . . . I'm afraid I'll try something . . . ," his arms came to wrap around her back lightly, "And I don't want to make you do anything . . . anything like that . . . ."
She smirked slightly, "Come one, Syrus . . . ," she murmured against his chest, "SInce when have you been able to make me do anything?"
"I'm serious, Selys! . . . I don't know If I'd ba able to . . . to control myself . . . ," he trailed off, he didn't want to do anything to her, he afraid of what he might do . . . .
"Take a chance, Syrus, have more faith in yourself . . . like I do . . . ," she looked up at him, pulling him gently to the bed, though she tripped and they both fell, Syrus just catching himself over her, so close he could feel her breath on his cheek.
For a while they only stared at each other, before she leaned up the small distance to his lips and kissed him, her hands coming up to wrap around his neck lightly, but he quickly broke it, "What's wrong?"
"You shouldn't . . . do that, unless . . . it makes me . . . just don't," he stood awkwardly, walking to the other side of the bed and laying there, scooting beneath the covers and trying to act as though nothing had happened. He felt her gaze on his back, but he kept himself facing away from her and eventually heard her soft breathing that meant she was finally asleep. Turning to look at her, he quickly turned away again, She kissed me . . . didn't she? Or was that me? Does she want me too?

When she woke, she looked blearily over to where Syrus would be, only to find him not there. Sitting bolt upright, she heard his voice, "Don't worry, I just got up early," and turned to see him sitting on the narrow windowsill, just turning from looking at her and looking back out over the city.
Relaxing, she stretched and looked down to the foot of the bed to see Avalanch curled up there, still asleep. Standing carefully, so as not to wake him, she came to stand by Syrus, "What are you looking at?" She tried to follow his gaze but saw nothing in particular.
"Selys . . . I'm going to leave you tonight . . . I think my other side wants out and . . . I don't want to hurt you, alright?" he wasn't really looking at anything, but he didn't answer her anyway. He was fighting to keep his other side under control, to keep it caged. He knew sometimes today or tonight it would break loose, and he didn't want Selys there when it did . . . .
She looked at him, surprised, "But . . . usually you can't tell when it-"
"I can this time, alright . . . I know it'll come soon . . . I can't hold it much longer . . . I'm trying but . . . it's too strong," he looked back to her, fear shining clearly in his eyes. Fear for her, and fear for what he might do . . . .
She layed a hand lightly on his shoulder, gripping it softly, "Are you sure . . . ?"
He nodded at her, turning back to look out at the city, sighing, It's coming . . . it'll take over soon . . . and I won't be able to do anything about it! He stood back on the floor, walking to the door when Selys asked him where he was going, "I don't want you be around me when it finally comes . . . and it'll be soon . . . all too soon," his voice got progressively quieter. He stood there for a moment before walking out the door, away from her . . . it would be so soon . . . he could already feel it . . . .

She stood at the window, holding Avalanch in her arms and stroking his head softly, Be careful, Syrus . . . stay safe . . . .For a while he wandered the streets, trying to get as far away from Selys as posible, also trying to get away from most of the population of the city, Just a bit longer . . . if Ican just get a bit farther away . . . . No . . . , he stopped, closing his eyes and shaking his head slowly. His hand coming up to his forehead as the signature throbbing came, meaning his other side would soon take over.
No . . . , his fleeting thoughts wondered where his sword was, he had left it back with Selys, good . . . at least he couldn't hurt anyone with that . . . but he had otherways . . . .
~~~
Hands shaking, he looked around at the five he had killed . . . 2 of them only children . . . . He looked down at his hands, still shaking, covered in blood, and closed his eyes at the sight, What am I? Why do I do this? What's wrong with me!? he back away, slowly at first, then turned around and ran.
When he was once more concious of his surroundings, he found he was standing only a block away from the inn they were staying at. It was dusk, the sun just beginning to set.
Walking quickly into the inn, up to their room before too many could notice him, covered in blood, he soon was in their room once more, slamming the door closed and breathing heavily, leaning against it.
He heard Selys coming to him, asking if he was alright, "I'm . . . I'm fine . . . but I . . . ," he looked once more at his hands, she looked down too, before fetching a wet rag and helping to clean him up, not saying anything for a while, "Thank you, Selys . . . I . . . ."She looked up at him, smiling slightly, "Come on . . . take those clothes off . . . I've set out new ones for you . . . I'll clean those tomorrow . . . ."
She waited while he took off his shirts, laying them on the bed beside the clean ones she had laid out, slipping those on before removing his pants as well. She sighed, turning back to the window as he changed his pants, looking out with Avalanch sitting beside her feet.Walking slowly over to her, he put his arms around her waist and pulled her close to him, her looking back at him in surprise, "Why do you stay with me? You could have such a better life without me . . . -""I love you, Syrus . . . ," her eyes widening, she hadn't meant to say that . . . . Turning back to the window, she stared intently out of it, determined to ignore the fact that she had said what she had . . . ."You . . . ?" he trailed off, not believing himself that she had said it. For a while he only stood there, waiting to see if she'd say more. When she didn't, he let her go, stepping back and faking a yawn, "Well . . . I'm going to bed . . . ," he trailed off as he walked to the bed and laid down, it felt so good . . . he was so tired . . . . He felt her lay beside him, snuggling closer and laying against his back, stroking it lightly, finally he turned and wrapped his arms around her, her looking up at him, "I am tired . . . you know it makes me after . . . .""I know . . . I just hope no one tracks yo back here . . . I'm sure the locals won't appreciate knowing you're here," she smirked slightly, snuggling closer, against his chest, "Sleep then . . . if you're tired . . . ." She lay in his arms as he fell asleep, and long after, enjoying it so much . . . before she too fell asleep.
No . . . it just . . . I just . . . it can't be coming again . . . not so soon, he thought as he woke, Selys still in his arms. His violet eyes flashing, seemingly turning red. But his head was throbbing like hell . . . he had to get away.
Standing, trying to be careful not to wake her at the same time as trying to keep his other side at bay, he made himself walk to the door.
I have to . . . get away from her . . . she can't be here when I . . . , his thoughts trailed off, it was getting harder and harder to fight, No . . . .
He full out ran, using the last of this side, the side that needed to protect Selys, to run out of the inn and down the street a ways, before his other side took over.Such a nice city . . . , his eyes darted about, trying to find something . . . , Oh, but I recognize this place now . . . how rude of me to create trouble here, in his city . . . .
He began to laugh histarically, looking around once more, Damn this soft side of me . . . he forgot my sword again! he growled, turning to look back at the inn, Oh . . . and she is up there too . . . the beautiful human girl I want so badly . . . . Perhaps I should go back, and have her tonight . . . finally . . . -
The good half of him made his thoughts stop, Selys was the only thing that made him strong enough to overcome the desire this half had, Fine, you stubborn fool . . . but I will have her sooner or later . . . and whether you choose to or not, you know you'll enjoy it . . . you want her as much as I do . . . you're just too weak to take her.
He crossed his arms, looking toward the castle where he knew Kye was, My old friend . . . I should pay him a visit someday soon . . . but not now. No . . . not now . . . . So much other things I could do in this wonderful city . . . .~~~
He turned to the wall, slamming his fist into it, What the hell am I!? he stood there, his breathing rough, ragged. He was back to his normal self . . . or, at least he thought it was his normal self.
He was covered in blood again, more so than ever before . . . he had slaughtered so many . . . so many innocent people . . . . Oh, his other side would never kill them while they slept, just a slit of the throat wasn't his style. He wanted the fight, the struggle, to torture and hear the screams and the cries of loved ones . . . .
What am I? . . . What am I, really? Why do I do this . . . ? he beganto walk, not really sure where he was going, though he soon found himself back at the inn, the sun not yet coming up, though the sky was lightening.
As he walked back into their room, Selys ran to him."Syrus . . . where . . . what . . . I thought you'd left me here . . . what happened-""Leave me alone . . . just . . . I'm sorry . . . we need to get out of here . . . I can't . . . ," but he was so tired, exhausted, he couldn't stay awake anymore, and so he blacked out."Syrus . . . ?" she dropped down beside him, brushing back his hair from his face, "I have to get you cleaned up . . . there's blood everywhere . . . ," she sighed, but set to work cleaning everything he had touched, for everything was now full of blood. She hoped she get it all out, at least most of it . . . .
Selys had gotten most of the blood off everything . . . the doornob, the floor, his clothes and her own . . . . She had sat with him, watching him sleep, for a couple hours, before he stirred, not fully awake but not totally sleeping either, "Syrus . . . are you alright," she leand over him, her eyes searching, laying a gentle hand on his cheek.
"No . . . don't . . . don't touch me," muttered, eyes closing once more, he was still so weak. Never had his other side taken over for so long, with such a short interval between . . . , "Selys . . . I killed them all . . . so many . . . I killed them . . . I killed them . . . -"
"Hush, save you're strength . . . ," she wondered why he kept telling her not to touch him, to leave him alone. Often he had muttered it while he slept, if she had touched him at all . . . , "Go back to sleep . . . you're not strong yet," she sat back, taking her hand with her and sighing as he grunted agreement, soon falling back asleep.
Gazing at his sleeping form, she sighed once more. She no clean, dry clothes for him . . . he slept with nothing on. She had cleaned his clothes as best she could, but they still had to dry . . . she had to soak them so much . . . it taken so long to get all the blood out.
Avalanch leaped onto the bed beside her, tilting his head at Syrus, who still smelled overwhelmingly like blood to him, even if there was no visible sign of it any longer. He sat beside Selys, staring at him curiously.
At least it doesn't look like anyone really noticed him coming back here, if anyone knows it was him who killed all those people, however many it was . . . . If they found us now . . . , she shook her head, Syrus was in no shape to fight, and how could she fight for them both? She was only a human, after all . . . she might be able to take on one person with not so much trouble, but . . . more than that and she knew she wouldn't stand a chance.
Something wouldn't let him leave this place, this city. From their room he could see the castle in the distance that was where the emperor to the Shadow Kingdom lived. While his good side had no idea about it, his other half knew so much more, and it was because of his other half that he couldn't leave.
It seemed this city had made his other side stronger. Before coming here he had been able to suppress it all together until it took over every so often. Now he could always here another voice in his head, taunting him and telling him to do things. For the most part he ignored it, but it was beginning to overwhelm him. He couldn't understand why he could no longer suppress it.
Selys had gone to get them some food and he was still laying in bed, a few days after his other side had taken over twice in a day, Why are you here!? Leave me the hell alone!
Why am I here? I'm you. Well, actually, you're me. I'm the original, I have no idea where you came from.
What? I am not you! I don't want anything to do with you! How can you be the original . . . wouldn't you be here now instead of me if that was the case?
No . . . why would I do that? You are always fighting to keep me here . . . locked in your mind . . . always fighting. While I get to relax and build my strength until you weaken enough it's all too easy to break through your pitiful barriers. I have no need to be me at all times. You're actually a good cover-up . . . besides, you're the one making the girl love us. When she loves us enough to let us have her-
No. She loves me and she hates you! She will never love you, and I will never 'take' her, as you so eloquently put it . . . . Because you're here. I know my defenses would break if she let me . . . -and you would come through. I will never let you have her. Never.
His other side only laughed at him and became silent as Selys returned, carrying a tray with 2 bowls of soup on it.
"I thought something light today . . . not sure why," she grinned at him, "But this smelled really good, so . . . ," she set it down on the middle of the bed and carefully climbed onto the other side, taking her bowl and starting to shovel spoonfuls of soup into her mouth.
"If you want something else I can got get it for you," she said after a little while when he hadn't taken it and only continued to stare at her.
"Oh, no, it's fine," he quickly took it up, his other side laughing at him once more.
Love is a weakness, my friend . . . you love her . . . she weakens you. And yet you want her the same as I . . . . If it was me I would take her and f-
Well it's not you! he snarled in his mind, concentrating on his soup, this argument with himself making him loose his appetite.
Take her, you fool . . . she's beautiful, young, even if she is only a human . . . . I'll even let you enjoy her for a night by yourself if you take her now. You know how badly you want her, so take her!
The offer was fairly tempting. He did want her, and if his other side actually kept true to his word, he and Selys could-no. No. He closed his eyes, You're lying.
How insulting. I just want to see if your are strong enough to take her. If you do I'll give you your reward and let you have her all for yourself . . . at least for tonight. But this is your only chance. I promise you, I won't offer it again. Truthfully I'm not sure why I'm offering it now, but I am. Take it or leave it.
I swear by the fires of hell if you are lying-
You'll what . . . ? his other side laughed, There is nothing you can do to me. But I am not lying . . . I really wish to know if you are strong enough to take her. Or has she really made you that weak with your pathetic love?
You're wrong . . . she makes me stronger. I can keep you from taking her even when you're in control of my body, all because I love her. She makes me stronger!
Yeah, yeah . . . I really couldn't give a shit. Are you going to take her or not? If not, we'll see how well you can keep me from her next time I'm the one in control.
He looked over at her, nearly done with her soup. How he wanted her . . . to love her as if they were a normal couple . . . . But they would never be, because of his other side. If only he could get rid of it . . . , Not now . . . will you . . . will you still let me have her to myself if I do it tonight?
I don't understand why you just don't roll her over and fuck her now, his other side growled.
He flinched at the way his other side put it. He didn't want to just fuck her . . . he wanted to love her . . . , Because . . . I'm eating soup . . . .
Soup!? Damn the soup and fuck the girl! How irritating can yo be? Who chooses soup over a good fuck? Are you absolutely crazy!?
I must be, I'm talking to myself and actually getting responses back . . . , he growled in his head, Will you let me wait or not!? I . . . don't want to do it now . . . .
You are so pathetic . . . but yes, I'm feeling exceptionally generous today, for one reason or another. I will let you take her when you wish . . . at least do it today . . . or I assure you I won't be giving you the chance again!
I . . . will . . . . Are you really going to let me do this?
If you shut up about it already. I'm trying to relax, you know.
Right . . . sure . . . . I . . . can't believe I'm-thanks . . . I think. You have yet to prove to me you weren't lying. And if you are I'll never let you near her again!
Yeah, yeah . . . now shut up and leave me the hell alone so I can relax.
He only rolled his eyes, setting down his half finished soup and sighing.
"Hey . . . are you gonna finish that?" Selys asked as he set down the soup. As he shook his head she grabbed it up and started wolfing it down. She saw him smirk slightly, but he didn't say anything, which surprised her.
"Are you feeling alright? You're so quiet lately . . . ," he shrugged, saying he was fine, "If you say so . . . ," and she finished the rest of his soup.
She had watched him as he relaxed a bit longer in bed. To take her mind off her boredom she decided to play with avalanch for a while, but now she was bored of that was well, and the fox was panting from how tired he was.
"Syrus? Are you just going to lay there all day or can we go somewhere? I'm so bored . . . can we go do something? Please!?" she jumped onto the bed beside him, leaning over him as he looked up at her slowly from one eye, "Please?" she repeated.
His eye closed again, everything she does just makes me want her more . . . it's like she's teasing me to see how far she can go before I snap! His hands gripped at the blanket beneath him lightly before he opened both eyes to look up at her, She's so young . . . I shouldn't . . . but . . . she said she loved me, she kissed me . . . and this might be our only chance for this, if she doesn't want me other side to . . . to . . . .
Her voice jerked him from his thoughts, asking if he was listening to her or not, "Yeah . . . I . . . . Yeah, let's go . . . where do you want to go?" he pushed back a bit farther into the pillows, her closeness not helping his feelings for her.
She tilted her head slightly, "I don't know . . . let's just wander and see where we end up. I used to like to do that when I was little, until I explored the whole of our tiny village . . . . C'mon, let's go!" she pulled at his arm and he sat up, shaking his head, "Well, if you have a better idea-"
"No . . . let's just do that, it's fine," he stood, pulling on a shirt and looking back at her, "You lead the way then."
"Fine . . . Avalanch, come!" she looked at the fox laying on the edge of the bed as she walked toward the door and he leapt down, padding happily after her, "Are you coming?" she asked from outside the room, as he was still standing there by the side of the bed.
"Yeah . . . ," he blinked, walking after her as she shook her head and rolled her eyes, hearing her mutter, "Stupid . . . ," and maybe something else but it was too quiet for him to catch. He smirked and followed her as they left the inn, wondering if she would let him be with her tonight . . . or . . . if he should even try, She's so young . . . .
So what, she's a woman, it's what they're for. Just fuck her-
I never asked you! he snarled. When there was no reply he was surprised, but grateful. he sighed, continuing to follow her as they travelled farther away from the inn.
"Syrus, you're so slow! Come on, hurry up!" she called, racing back to him from a block ahead, Avalanch at her heals, coming to tug on his pant leg, "Hello . . . ? Reality to Syrus!" she waved a hand in front of his face, making him blink and look down at her, surprise clear in his features.
"Huh?" he had been staring at a building not far away, the one he had killed the first few people in . . . his hands were clenched into fists, his nails biting painfully into his palms though he noticed none of it until Selys waved her hand before his face, "What . . . ?"
"Syrus . . . are you sure you're alright? You've been . . . different . . . lately," she could find no better word. She looked up at him with concern shining in her eyes.
"Huh?" he repeated, "Yeah . . . I'm fine, why? What do you mean, different? I'm fine!" he suddenly became defensive, wondering if she somehow knew about his other side being more prominent lately. he didn't want her to know . . . she would only worry about him . . . and . . . .
"Alright, jeez, I was just asking . . . relax . . . maybe you need a nap," she mused humorously, "You're being pretty cranky . . . -"
"I'm not a child! I don't need a nap!" he snapped, walking ahead, not really sure where he was going, but feeling moody all of a sudden.
She shook her head, eyes narrowed, "Stupid . . . ," she muttered to herself before following after him, glaring at the back of his head. To her surprise he turned into a tavern not far ahead, Why is he . . . ? She followed him in, walking briskly over to where he sat at the bar, already ordering something.
"Syrus . . . I thought we were going to-"
"I changed my mind . . . ," he muttered, taking a long drink from the glass handed to him and leaning back. he looked over at her, "Do you want anything?" She looked surprised he ahd asked, usually he was reluctant to get her anything at all . . . .
"I can get . . . anything?" she asked hopefully. She didn't know what it was with her and alcohol, but it just seemed exciting, the prospect of getting really drunk and doing something stupid. She knew she shouldn't want to but . . . she did. When he replied with a grunt of yeah, anything, she took a seat quickly beside him, wondering what she should have.
"Well . . . what are you having?" she asked finally, looking over at his drink.
"You wouldn't like it, I'm sure," he laughed, taking another drink from it, but she persisted, saying she wanted one, "Fine . . . but I don't care if you don't like it . . . you're going to drink it all," and so he ordered another and handed it to her, "There you go."
It was so strong! She made herself swallow and coughed a little after she did so. Syrus was laughing at her, "Shut up! . . . ," she told him between coughs. Though, after a few more drinks from it, she started to get used to it and stopped coughing. Once she had finished hers, Syrus was only about halfway done with his own, and she asked him if she could have another. He stared at her for a while, as if he hadn't understood what she'd asked, before finally ordering another one for her.
"Hey, Syrus . . . look at how long I can balance this on my head," she put the glass on her her head and started weaving about to keep it on, only a small bit of the red-brown liquid was left in it now. He caught it as it fell and she burst into a fit of giggles, not really wanting to pay for a broken glass as well.
"You do it," she ordered him suddenly, "I wanna see if you can beat me . . . bet you can't!"
"Selys . . . ," he mumbled, but she pleaded with him to do it and finally he rolled his eyes, finishing his orginal drink and doing it for her, but he purposely didn't do it for long, feeling stupid and not wanting to upset her by beating her at her little game as she was obviously drunk already.
She burst into more laughing as it fell and he caught it, placing it on the bar with a sigh and amusement, "I told you I'd win! Hah!" she laughed again and he shook his head, leaning back and gazing at her, wondering if he should let her have one more or not . . . .
When Selys woke the next day, her head was pounding and she let loose a groan, "What the hell . . . ?" she mumbled to herself, turning over to see Syrus wasn't there. She sat bolt upright, though regretted it soon after as her head now felt as if there was a thunder storm raging between her ears.
A few moments later Syrus returned to the room, carrying a tray of food.
You idiot! She was drunk AND she wanted you! Why didn't you take your chance!? If I had my own body I would . . . AGH!
I didn't ask you . . . shut up.
But it was PERFECT! What better chance could you ask for!?
I don't trust you . . . I'll never get that close to her knowing you could take over at any time! I'll never let you have her!
Fool! I gave you your chance . . . and you blew it! Blew the perfect chance! How can we share teh same body . . . the same mind!? You are NOT me!
Finally something we agree on. Why don't you just shut up so I can eat my breakfast in peace-
Because you're an idiot! Are you even really a man!? What kind of man wouldn't take such a glorious opportunity!? I just . . . I can't comprehend what in the hell you were thinking!
Just shut up . . . . he sighed and settled down o nthe bed before her, the tray between them, "I brought you something to eat . . . these might help with the uh . . . ," he chuckled, "Hang-over."
Maybe you're not so stupid . . . , his other side chuckled as well, I would have taken over if you fucked her last night . . . you were half drunk yourself, it would have been so easy-
His eyes widened, "What!?" he snarled, then, Shit . . . that was outloud . . . . His other side only laughed histerically at his mistake.
"Ah! Bad . . . headache!" Selys snarled back, "What the hell are you talking about!? I never said anything!" She began to rub her temples, glaring at him and scowling.
"I . . . sorry I was just . . . nevermind . . . I . . . ," he shook his head, looking down at his hands and trying not to scowl himself at his other side for causing him the outburst, and for continuing to laugh at him for it.
"Are you sure you aren't sick, because that was-"
"I'm fine! . . . I'm fine," he repeated more quietly when she winced, "Sorry . . . ."
"I would hope so . . . ," she grumbled, taking up an apple and biting into it, knowing this wasn't one of the ones he had meant would help with her hang-over, but not caring . . . .
I have to get out of here . . . we have to leave this city . . . . I don't like what you are planning, he growled at his other side, not knowing if it was listening or not. His other side was keeping him from leaving . . . . He knew there had to be a reason. But now, they couldn't leave, Selys was still dealing with the remains of her hangover, and she needed rest.
Oh, we'll leave . . . just as soon as I take care of some . . . unfinished business.
I don't like how that sounds . . . we're leaving tomorrow, he stated as if there could be no contestation
Fine by me, this response surprised him, but then he continued, I'll just finish it tonight.
What . . . ? Wait, no- the pain in his head was so great. He curled slightly, cradling his head in his hands, his eyes wide from the pain. He felt like his head was splitting in two, "No . . . not here . . . no, no!"
At Syrus's shouting, she woke again, looking over at him sleepily, "Syrus . . . ?" then she noticed his position, and realized what must be happening. Her eyes widened and she bent over him, "No, Syrus . . . fight it, I know you can-"
"No! Don't . . . don't touch me! Get away . . . Selys . . . ."
Just give in . . . I have been resting well for a few days now, while you have continued to keep me under guard . . . you are weaker than I am, you won't win-
No! Selys-
Oh relax, you pitiful excuse for a demon . . . I won't fuck her. I can do that whenever I want . . . . I can only visit an old friend while we remain in this city. So long as she stays out of my way, I won't touch her.
No . . . I don't . . . , his eyes closed tightly against the rising pain.
Give in! he snarled. When his eyes next opened he was once more in control of his body, Selys leaning over him. He looked up at her with a smirk, quickly switching their positions so it was he who was over her, "Evening, Princess . . . -"
"No . . . ," she gasped, fear coming into her eyes as she gazed up at him. Her gaze flew frantically about the room as if she could find something there that would save her from whatever he would do to her.
He chuckled, "Don't worry, Love . . . I won't have you . . . tonight . . . ," his hand gently cupped her cheek and she closed her eyes, as if she hadn't heard what he'd said and was expecting more. He leaned down and whispered in her ear, "I have other things to do . . . though when I do have you . . . you can bet I'll enjoy it," his hand slid from her cheek, down to her neck, between her breasts and stopping at her stomach, almost tempted to take her now anyway.
He shook his head, Kye . . . you owe me, and I will not leave this city until I have what I came for.
His lips hovered over hers, "See you, Princess," he whispered, only just brushing his lips with hers before he was gone.
Breathing heavily, she finally opened her eyes. He wasn't over her. She sat up slowly, looking around and noticing the door was open. She stood quickly, throwing on a jacket and following him, She didn't know what compelled her to do so after such an encounter, but she had to find out where he was going. She was sure he would . . . would have made her . . . would have raped her, if he didn't have something very importnt to do, other than his usual killing sprees.
She managed to find him eventually, staying at least 3 blocks behind him at all times, sometimes more. She didn't know what he'd do if he knew she was following him, and really didn't want to find out.
Finally she realized he was heading for the castle where the emperor lived, What business does he have up there . . . ? her eyes widened, His other side always seems to remember things . . . maybe . . . something from his past, maybe someone in there has some relationship with him . . . but . . . who, and why?
