The past few days had been long and tedious. Ikaina had been bothered by the relentless noise of moans and groans coming from a young girl that had been traveling with her. Of course, Nyra had practically begged to come along with her, and Ikaina had obliged, thinking that perhaps she could pass on her father's teachings to others, just on the off chance that something would happen to her. Not that anyone else was worthy of her father's wisdom, but she figured it was best to at least have a safety. Yet, Nyra wasn't interested in anything she had to teach her. She was always complaining about being hungry or tired...that just wasn't something that Ikaina could stand for.
Nyra had left only a day or so before, going home on her own. The child had asked for Ikaina to accompany her all the way back to her hometown, but Ikaina refused. She said that she had made it this far without listening to her, so why should she have to take Nyra all the way back.
It was oddly quiet now that the girl had left. The leaves under her feet seemed to crackle and crunch more than they ever had before, even though Ikaina was still almost absolutely silent in her footing, as if she were stalking her prey. Her head was hung low; black hair was tucked behind her ear, her bangs falling in front of one eye as she stared at the ground before her, careful to listen for any possible threats in the distance. But it sounded to her as if there was nothing around her for miles. At least, everything seemed silent.
Quietly, she continued on her way through the feild, not entirely sure where it was she was going. Ikaina knew that her main goal of searching for Neo was still what she was doing, but she wasn't sure where to look. She hadn't heard word of his whereabouts in a while. It seemed that she was losing his trail. The only place where she hadn't searched for knowledge recently was in Darkon. Perhaps that was where she should head.
