As well as everyone else, Rae was appalled by what the drunken man had said, her face crumpling. She growled lightly, moving in front of Okesha as she moved, as if their minds were working alike. Okesha wanted to hide, and Rae wanted to teach this guy a lesson. Adding on to anything Neo snapped, she spoke, "Get you're drunken ass out of here, before you don't have one anymore." Questioning why most men only think with their dicks, she watched as the man only stood with a cocky grin, averting his gaze between the three of them.
"Listen puss," he started, leaning toward Rae, "I wasn't talking to you." Knowing he infuriated her, he smiled large and blew her a kiss. He then looked at the wolf guy, "As for you, go stick you're cock in someone else's business. Alright?" Oh, mr. hot shot tonight, trying to lay any girl possible, and dis even the coolest guys. He managed to get everyone's attention in the tavern. The only weird thing about what was happening is that if he was sober, he would be absolutely nothing like this. -Well almost, he'd certainly still flirt with girls, and even when getting slapped, he was never this bad. He was garunteed to remember nothing after passing out tonight, and his hangover would be worse that getting your skull drilled through 4 times or more. It would kill.
Rae took a feirce step forward, snarling at his vain existance, how dare he perform such gesture at her. Though a sharp sting overcame her, and she fell back a few steps, feeling Okesha's soft hand against her shoulder, Kiron jumping to the floor and growling with his fur standing up. Even if she was pissed off, she hadn't forgotten her injuries. She was honestly in no real condition for fight, or even threaten, though as stuborn as she was, it was only expected.
Instead of possibly kicking or punching the crap out of this blonde-haired jerk, she would leave it to Neo to beat the shit out of him. She glanced over to behind the counter, as there was still no sign of the girl getting the supplies. One shouldn't take so long to simply retrieve only a few simple supplies for travelers, unless of course she was new. She looked back the the asshole, growling as she tightened the grip over her wound. How long with this take?. . .

Okesha's brown auds pressed hard against her head, feeling guilty for being the cause of this though it wasn't really even her fault. Rae was stressing herself too much as well, her wound not healed yet. She did her best to just stay out of the way, gripping Rae's shoulder gently to steady her.
Neo . . . you actually . . . stood up for me . . . . Though she had no idea he was only being pissy and not doing it specifically for her.
Neo . . . .
Snarling at this guy's audacity, he picked him up by the collar and slammed him down on the bar before him. Leaning over him and getting in his face to make him pay attention, he growled, "Listen you, I don't know who you think you are, but you're really starting to piss me off! I suggest you take your cock somewhere else before you lose it!"
He couldn't believe this guy had the nerve to talk to him as he was. Womanizing jerk that he was, he couldn't wait for him to really start something so he could beat the living shit out of him. Neo himself hadn't started a fight since he killed his father, and he certainly wouldn't start this one either. This guy was hardly worthy of it.

Rae closed her eyes and released a calming sigh, the air from her lungs fluently emptying and filling once more. Actually glad for Neo doing something about the jerk-off, she loosened her muscles slightly, simply holding her hand over her wound and staying quiet. She took a moment to look back at Okesha, then to look around the tavern. She hadn't noticed how truly empty it was for the size of the building, of course, it wasn't too popular, which was a good thing for them. They didn't want to draw too much attention, no one could be trusted...
"Hey, Mr. bad ass in black, no harm intended..." Just as he said that, the young woman behind the counter returned with a few sacs, one for health and aid, one for food, and one for tools that might be needed. She was panting as she set the on the counter, wiping the sweat off her brow, she then smiled. "My apologies, this was all I could find, it's still useful, but I hope it will help..." After talking with her eyes closed, she opened them to the two men leaning on the counter. She blinked, realizing she certainly missed something, then added to her last sentence, "If you don't mind, take it and leave, there's no need for violence." she sighed and shook her head, walking away to clean glasses.
Just then, he felt the wolf man's grip loosen as he leaned over and took two of the bags, leaving the aid bag for Okesha. He stood up, and leaned against the bar as he watched them slowly lean. He was so determined to get that girl to sleep with him... Someday. He sighed, shaking his head and turning around, leaving a pile of money for the bartender...

As they walked from the tavern, Okesha very hurried to leave that man far behind, she looked from Rae to Neo with a slightly concerned look upon her face, "Neo . . . I don't know how far we can go with her side like that . . . . Maybe we should rest a bit more before we go?" She shifted the sack she carried to a more comfortable position over her shoulder, the short chain on her collar jingling softly.
Almost disappointed that it hadn't come to a fight, Neo growled and walked out of the tavern carrying the sacks they had received, black auds pressed against his head lightly. He had gotten worked up over that pathetic loser and the warrior in him was screaming for a good fight. At Okesha's words, he looked at her, then at Rae, golden gaze narrowed. Blowing out his breath shortly, he turned forward again and kept walking, "I'm sure she can tell us herself if she needs a rest without you over her like a worried mother." He was still too worked up to really care about something like that. All he knew right now was that they needed to get out of Darkon, though where they would go he didn't know.
Looking back at Rae, he asked her input, ignoring Okesha's sigh of resignation at his words, "So, you have a destination in mind, or are we to just wander aimlessly. I'm fine with either option as long as we get out of here." To tell the truth, the memories of Darkon were beginning to plague him again, and that was something he really didn't need right now, working him up even more.

Rae walked in utter silence, her solid expression of nothingness seeming unchangeable as the two of them spoke. She was slightly annoyed of Neo's bad attitude, but that didn't say much, because he annoying on a regular basis. She wanted to tell him that all he wants is to pick a fight with someone, and it wouldn't be wise beating on your own flesh and blood... Although again, she was in no place to do so.
When he asked her about reference as to where to go, with his smart-ass tone, she grunted, her eyes gluing on him for a while. Though when she answered him, she looked away, and closed her eyes. "I haven't a wise suggestion, though the closest city out of here that i could think of would be..." she paused, stopping from the ache in her side. She took a few breaths, "Mindo, but that's nothing but mountains... we could always travel through the forest region... but-"
She stopped, growling and jerking her head to look behind her. Where there was nothing, it made her to feel very uneasy. Her fast movement caused her wound to sting deeply, Rae quietly hissed through her teeth, it wasn't healing fast enough...
Kiron started barking, padding over to the opening of a dim allyway. Growling and throwing a fit, Okesha called for him, and he looked at her and howled.
"Geez, you really had to blow my cover, didn't you pup.." he said, walking from the allyway rubbing the back of his head with one eye closed. He sighed, walking toward the group. "Listen, I'm sorry about that, I guess i just get kind lonely sometimes..." he said as he managed to get close enough to put his arm around Okesha's shoulders. "Can't we all be friends?" he laughed, awkwardly, attempting to start over, so he could give a good second impression to the hot babe beneath his grip... If only she was beneath his body.... ---He shook his head and clear his throat to cover up his little thought, considering he blushed slightly.

His already short fuse grew even shorter as she seemed to take her time answering him. When she mentioned Mindo, his hands clenched so hard into fists he soon felt the biting pain of his own nails in his palm, even through the cloth of the sacks he carried. No, not Mindo, never Mindo . . . I’ll never go back. Pain washed over him, deep and devastating pain, for one brief moment before he shoved it rather rudely away. *After Raven’s death, he swore he’d never return to that place she was killed, the place where her body lay. Blinking memory from his eyes, he stopped to look back when Kiron began his little tantrum and felt a great surge of disgust at the appearance of the man from the tavern.
Okesha went rigid as she felt his arm around her, her silver gaze slowly gliding up to his face. After a heartbeat of silence, in which she stared up at him with wide eyes, she left him with a small cloud of dust in her haste to get away. She his behind Neo, peering out warily at the man as he stood there.
Tipping his head back to glance at Okesha, he growled, “Looks like my sister doesn’t like your friend idea too much . . . and you know what, neither do I.”
He took a step forward, but Okesha laid a hand on his shoulder and he looked back at her with narrowed amber eyes, “Neo . . . I don’t want to fight anymore . . . please . . . don’t fight needlessly.”
As she looked up at him, he shrugged her off with a low growl, looking back at the man he still didn’t know the name of. Though, if he thought about it, he really didn’t care either, “What do you want? To travel with us? Well, the road’s still free, just don’t get in my way. You don’t know what you’re getting yourself caught up in.” Hopefully he’ll get killed by whoever’s chasing us along the way. The thought put him in a slightly better mood.
Okesha breathed a sigh of relief, though stayed wary of the stranger. Her friendly nature had her wishing to speak with him and become friends, but the instinct to keep away from men, especially the type of man he seemed to be, kept her close to her brother. She attempted not to look at him or meet his gaze and encourage him to pursue her. She knew that any interest she showed in him would only serve in furthering his pursuit of her.
*just a little reminder i found after rereading Raven's 'burial' (even though they didn't actually bury her) In refference to Mindo: He wouldn't stay here . . . nor would he ever return, not if his life depended on it. He couldn't stand it here any more. His pain had subsided for now, but he still had to get away . . . far away . . . . kinda random, but, w/e

Rae slowly walked around the newly added party member, she stood by Neo, looking at him, finding it slightly difficult to breathe. She hung her head after looking at him, "I need to sit down. . ." Honestly, with the way she looked, it was amazing she could even stand, much less walk. And of course, she was bluffing most of it, because it was her nature. Though ignoring what she had just stated, she looked up at the wolfman again, "The best choice we have is through the forest region, Now that we have supplies we should get moving as soon as possible. . . If not, we could attract more attention than we need..." Though the irony in that was fairly humorous, they have had nothing but attention since Neo and Okesha met up with Rae, and now there was another tagalong, of which she starred at coldly once she was finished with her advice.
Furyk noticed her dirty look almost in the instant she gave it. Watching her walk past him, he starred back at her, but kept watching as she looked away, as if he wasn't even there anymore. She didn't bother waiting for anyone else, and just began walking in the direction they were choosing to travel. Okesha following her, with Kiron at her side. Then Neo, with a few sacs on his back, walking at a bit slower pace. Feeling a bit awkward, he starts walking too, "I'm Furyk." He said, even if no one acknowledged it...
Damn, what a crowd...

As they started moving again, Neo stared past Okesha, to Rae. Such a difficult woman; one minute she needs to rest and the next she's leading the way. He just wished she'd choose one way or the other and stick with it. If she truly needed to rest, they weren't going to get very far, and if they ran into trouble she'd be useless and a huge liability in battle. Blowing out his breath, he rolled his eyes and wondered why he was thinking about her so much, it only succeeded in annoying him all the more. Stubborn woman....
Switching his thoughts over to their new 'friend', he still clung to the thought of him being killed somewhere along the way. His ears twitched and he growled softly as Furyk introduced himself, though that single thought made Neo feel slightly more civil toward him, and he growled his name as a response, "Neo...." though he never looked back at him, still finding his previous behavior more than a little repulsive. He said nothing more, not feeling that civil.
For a short while, Okesha watched Rae, worried about her condition and wishing she could be as strong. Maybe then... Neo wouldn't hate me so much, if I was strong. She closed her eyes briefly and sighed, shifting her grip on the sack she was carrying. Looking down at Kiron, she smiled in the slightest; she loved him so much. After all, he was really the only one she had who seemed to care about her at all. "I'll always have you, won't I, Kiron?" she spoke softly as she looked at him.
Then Furyk spoke and her brown auds flicked as she looked back at him, suddenly feeling bad for him. Everyone was just shutting him out and ignoring him... she knew how that felt. Swallowing her fear of him, she told herself be strong, like Rae. Rae wasn't afraid of him, and it's not like Neo would let anything happen to her, right? And she had Kiron, too. Nervously, she slowed her pace and let Neo pass her with a short look of curiosity. She couldn't help feeling this was a bad idea, but she supposed she would soon find out if he was worth feeling sorry for.
"I'm... Okesha," she spoke quietly. not really looking at him, as she came to walk beside him, at a slight distance. Pointing toward Rae, she spoke again, "And, that's Rae, but... she probably won't introduce herself...." She trailed off, not really sure what else to say and feeling extremely high strung.
He wondered briefly what Okesha thought she was doing, It'll be her fault now if that guy tries anything... I suppose I'd have to be the one to stop it, too. Slightly annoyed and thinking she was being a bit reckless and way too nice to this guy, he shook his head and let it go. Staring at the ground as he walked, he found himself catching up with Rae rather quickly, only a few feet away, and slowed his pace down again, not really wanting to deal with her at the moment. Why did I have to meet her? Why did I- though he stopped himself with yet another growl, More questions... why don't they ever stop? ...Or at least... get answered....

He looked down at Okesha with a wide grin, "Well hey there, pretty lady!" he laughed a bit, soon enough starting to feel really stupid for how they met. Suppose it was bad way of sobering up. But of course he would cope with it, he was good at that kind of thing. His eyes became a bit more normal, instead of dry and red. He looked upward, but kept walking, sighing and reaching his hands behind his head. "I wasn't too sure you guys would like me much, but I've been alone for a long time." he said in a fairly unslurred voice. He closed his eyes, just calmly walking along side of her, appreciating her accompanyment. "Sorry if I scared you, it's a guy thing, yah know." He laughed a little, opening one eye and glancing to her from the side.
Rae effortlessly listened to their conversation, breathing carefully and making sure not to step to boldly. She gritted her teeth at her stupidity. Her thoughts were scattered in a tangled headache, ... where do we think we are going... why did i meet them... why did he even bother to heal me... wh... who am i?
Her eyes thinned, lifting her arm, and staring down at it, sliding her finger across her skin, touching a patch of black and blue. It stung a little, but not enough to flinch. She closed her eyes shortly, smelling the air and remembering only when she awakened. There is no trace of anything before that, which was extremely bothersome...
~~~
The warmth had escaped far before she had been there, dark and shadowed, even a little rain had started to add to the gloom. She clearly heard the clinking of armor, holding a bad vibe that someone may be after her. Angry and most of all, confused, they found her. Hunreds of troops, and their commander, ordering her to stop, and to come with them. For what she had no idea, but it didn't sound the least bit appealing.
Using the only thing she had remembered, she unsheathed her weapon and unleashed an amazing fighting force, constantly piling soldiers, even tiring she remained above their numbers. Jumping across and along buildings, resting briefly in shadows, and being covered in blood.... a nightmare if not something worse was happening, and it was all because of her... but what for, why was she so damn important!!!
Finally being ambushed, caught in a fairly crowded allyway, armed men surrounded her and attacked her all at once... A painful, if not beyond painful experiance... and one she lived through, killing off the what was left...
Then Neo...
~~~
She growled, remembering how she simply fell limp in his arms. She openned her eyes again, feeling a little better, she dropped her hand, and looked forward, aknowledging a man walking the opposite way down the street. Remaining causious, she watched him out of the corner of her eye, even as he passed... She then slowed down to Neo's speed, walkinig beside him, and looking over to him. She then spoke after looking away, "Do you want me to carry something?" she said quietly, starting a conversation to avoid listening to the two behind any longer.

Her auds twitched at his greeting, and she kept her gaze forward as she felt herself blush in the slightest, wondering if he was always like this. As he continued to speak, she looked over at him from the corner of her eye, still too wary to look at him directly. Her auds perked slightly as she spoke, "You didn't scare me," she lifted her head slightly, trying to speak as though it was true, but a moment later her gaze had dropped and her auds were pressed lightly against her head again. It's a guy thing..., she thought briefly. She knew very well it was a guy thing, that's why she didn't like guys.
Responding to his earlier comment, she spoke again, telling herself it was no good to be afraid of every guy she met, it was childish, "Well... I don't think Neo really likes much of anyone... not anymore, anyway...." She looked ahead to where he was walking. His attitude had just been going downhill ever since Raven died. He used to just be apathetic, but now he was a real jerk most of the time. Sighing, she looked over at Furyk, finally, "Why have you been alone? Don't you have a family or anything...?" She hoped she wasn't bringing up a bad topic, and wished she hadn't asked, though it was too late. She wondered if it was because she was born a slave, or if she was just naturally bad at talking to people.
As another traveler passed them, he watched him from the corner of his eye before he was out of view. He stared at the ground for a moment and then Rae was beside him. His auds twitched, What does she want now? though he was surprised when she offered to help carry something. Looking over at her, he blinked and looked away quickly, still wanting to be annoyed with her for some reason, "I can handle it myself," he growled softly, staring ahead with narrowed amber eyes, "Besides, you're still wounded aren't you? It would only slow you down, and then the rest of us would just have to slow our pace for you." He glanced at her briefly, shifting one of the sacks slightly and saying once more, "I can do it myself."

Feeling very unphased by his reply, she breathed calmly, "Do you really think its best to insult everyone?" Keeping constant with his footsteps. "I'm not weak." she said firmly, quickly giving him another glance. Her gaze then softened, looking forward, preparing herself for what she was getting into...
Rae wasn't one to get into deep conversation, but perhaps the lack of rest, food, or maybe even blood, had changed her mood. She felt much more mellow, and even slightly sorrowful, it was doubtful to come often. She sighed, then closed her eyes gently, "Neo... why did you help me?. . ." she paused, not quite sure what she was trying to get at, but her tone lowered, "I attacked you, and instead of fighting..." she refused to say he saved her... It sounded pathetic, and it made her angry, really angry, but she shrugged it off, and spoke away from him in an under-breath, "Why didn't you just kill me, and 'save' yourself all the trouble..."
I don't even know who I am... With all of her deep thinking putting yet another strain on her, she found her body drained to where it had been before, letting it put weight on her as she still kept pace with Neo. But the thought she had just given herself weighed her down even more.
"Hm?" Furyk sounded, grunting in humor, "Family? Nah, no family for me." he answered her bluntly. "I've been pretty screwed up for a while now, and family hasn't really been in mind since I was young, I guess." He gave her a big smile, covering up a huge wave of distasteful memory. "What about you? That guy up there all you got left?" he asked lightly, trying to sound nicer than it came out.

He scowled shortly, "Tch... I never said you were weak, but whether you like it or not, you are still wounded, and it's making you weaker than you might be normally." He glanced behind him to see how Okesha was handling that Furyk guy, surprised when he saw them actually seeming to be getting along, Well, that's an event.... Rae's voice brought his gaze to her instead as she spoke once more.
"Truthfully...," he spoke slowly and for once his voice wasn't a sarcastic growl, and he looked away again, "I don't know. I don't know why I helped you.... Though, it's just not in me to leave someone behind when they so obviously need help...," at risk of starting an argument with her, he went on, "As you did." he walked in silence for a little while before speaking again, "I don't kill people just because I can... especially when they pose no threat. You were too injured to do me any harm, too injured for me to fight you without feeling ashamed of myself."
He sighed, looking over at her, "Do I really seem like a man who'd do something like that?" His amber gaze narrowed at her, his eyes soft and searching, though he closed his eyes a moment later. Looking ahead once more, his eyes were dull and emotionless, "I don't want... any more death... needless death...." He was quiet for along time after that, staring ahead blankly, "Or is it your wish to die? The way you keep talking, it seems that way. Don't you have anything to live for?"
She listened quietly to him, "I see...," she murmured quietly before he asked his own question of her. Looking up at Neo again, she sighed and shifted her sack of supplies, "I... suppose.... He... um...." she shook her head slightly, "He is... we are, all we have now."

Absent mindedly, Rae scowled at his question. She hadn't ever thought about a purpose to her life. It angered her that he would ever question something as valuable, but then again, maybe it wasn't valuable at all, and she was simply insignificant... She didn't even have a clue... and that made her feel worse. It was for sure that some people had obsessively shown that she was worth something... but for what she wasn't sure.
She stayed silent for a while, attempting to find something else, but she had gotten them into the conversation, and there wasn't any way out. "If I could remember anything... it would be better to decide if I have anything to live for." she said in a dull voice. She had just realized how annoying his tone was, always trying to sound so "noble" and yet, he seemed so sure of everything, like he knew. Honestly, she thought he didn't have any more of a clue than she did.
On that note, she had the erg to tell him off for constantly being such a jerk. Though she did very well with keeping her mouth shut. Instead she blew out a big breathe, mostly through her nose, and closed her eyes, looking away for a short moment to express a solid look of annoyance on her face.
--- Focusing her eyesight toward the nearest alleyway, her brow crumpled, eyes darkening as her footsteps slowed. She was too busy with what she was looking at to see if Neo had slowed as well... She squinted to see movement, her hand instantly moving to her hilt. She drew her Zen blade, swiftly raising it inches before her face, her eyes glancing over the blade. Ignoring the new burning from her newest wound, she growled, "Stop..."
Furyk nodded in respond to let her know he was listening, though his eyes averted to Rae once she drew her weapon, his eyes addressing concern, looking around, but seeing nothing. He inspected the surroundings behind them, and the side opposite of where Rae was looking, and found nothing... What is she doing?
He then shouted up to her "Hey Rae! What's up?!" he called, his hand cuffed around the side of his mouth.
---"Shh!!" she snarled, as a shadow of movement darted from the alleyway, around Rae, wafting her hair and clothing. Rae closed her eyes, stepping widely to regain her balanced after it had seemingly disappeared. She swiftly turned to face Furyk, scowling at him.
His eyes were wide from surprise, as well as embarrassment, but not as much. His hand had dropped, and rested now at his side. he then jogged up to the two in front, glancing back to make sure Okesha followed close. "What the hell was tha---"
"We don't know, Thanks to you!..." She barked, still scowling at him heavily. She then jerked her entire in his opposite direction, Only Neo within her view now, though she still looked around for where that thing may have disappeared to...
Staring at her for a while, amazed at her huge temper-tantrum, he pointed at her with his thumb, turning slightly innocent-looking. "What's eating her?" he whispered aloud. More to Neo than anyone else.
